How to get rid a Mouse
53How to get rid of a mouse, that is a question a lot of people seem to have a problem with only when they have the mice problem.
- Identify the problem, another words find out if you have one mice, a mouse infestation or you may have a rat.
- Plan your strategy. buy some mouse traps, when I say some mouse traps I mean more than one. It has been my experience that once a trap has been used the other mice are reluctant to approach the used trap.
- Be ready to use different baits. Peanut butter, cheese, apple cut up pieces and various fruits. some times you may have to change out the baits just to attract the mouse. Just remember if the bait you use is not more attractive than the food source they have then you could be wasting your time.
- Look for signs and trails in the attic under home (if on piers). Rats and mice leave trails like tunnels in insulation in the attic, they also leave dropping where ever they go.
- If possible place the traps close to trails, opening, other food source's and various places.
- Wait and check daily for results.
It is best not to use the same trap, Place deceased mouse in a plastic bag and dispose of.
If you are not wanting to see the rodent dead then there are "have-a-heart" traps available, just remember to let the critter go way away from your home, if you let it go outside in the yard guess what it will return. and now you still will not be able to know how get rid of a mouse.
Good luck

I have a Little experience in getting rid of those critters and that other guy is right you want to get them out and away from your house. The quicker the Better.
I had to do this a few times in my life. I don't like to kill the little guys but they have health risks they bring with them. On top of that who whats to take a chance on getting bitten by them. Best thing is to get rid of them.
@Amroyce yes they can get out of hand in just a short time. best to really go after them and eliminate early.
I agree, David, mice can carry diseases, as well as parasites. That means it’s important to get them out of your home quickly before they have a chance to multiply. I just found the Kill and Seal Mouse Trap by Victor which seals the mouse inside the trap, preventing the escape of parasites, bodily fluids and odors.
Here's the trap I'm referring to:

If a mouse is not eliminated right away will they multiply and grow out of control?
